Every year, students solve the Murder of Allen Ripley to review and practice their synthesis skills. Students always enjoy this challenge to find the “true” culprit of the Allen Ripley’s murder case.

2024 AP Mock Exam DayEvery year, my colleague and I host a full AP Lang mock exam on a weekend in April to help students prepare for the 3 hour 15 minute exam in May. Students receive the MCQ and FRQ results from us in AP Classroom after about a week.
Goodie Bags
Each year, I prepare goodie bags for my students for the AP Lang exam day! Go SPACECAT!
I always make sure to include the classic Korean pens— the Monami 153. My students are unfamiliar with these pens, but the hidden message behind the pen is so meaningful that having it is essential. The number 153 hold a significance from John 21:1-14, where Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net that was full of 153 large fish, yet the net was not torn. This symbolic act marked Jesus forgiving and restoring Peter, who had previously betrayed him.
The pink flamingo alludes to the infamous AP Lang rhetorical analysis prompt from 2006… And of course I cannot forget to include SPACECAT.
